Prana “Breath, Life, Vitality” Review and Giveaway
Is quality worth the cost? In the case of PrAna, I believe it is. Six years ago I purchased my very first pair of yoga pants and they happened to be PrAna. I had not heard of the brand, but the texture of the material was very appealing. Six years later many yoga pants have come and gone, but the PrAna pair still remain fully functional and in great shape. Think of all the times they have been washed and worn! I definitely got my money’s worth out of them. PrAna clothing is made for an active lifestyle, though originally designed for yoga and climbing they now are looking to accompany you on all your adventures.
The company was created in 1992 with the goal of conservation and promoting positive changes. The fabrics used range from organic cotton to recycled poly. I personally love the organic cotton, it is easy to wash and is extremely soft. When given the opportunity to select a PrAna outfit, it was very difficult to narrow it down. I wanted something I could wear for an entire Saturday so from the soccer fields, to the grocery store, to a fall festival, and a hike in the woods with the dog. I wanted something that looked fashionable, but gave me flexibility with movement. An outfit that was lightweight and breathable and easy to pack for overnights away, yet warm enough to protect from an autumn wind.
I chose the Stacia sweater in saguaro. Retail price is $89, but you can use the code MMLPCRTC for 15% off at PrAna.com through October 31st. This very lightweight and comfy sweater is 100% organic cotton with a stitched pattern front. Perfect for a hike or for a business casual work environment.
For the pants I chose the Kara jeans in denim, but boy did I debate between those and cargo green. These run a bit large and I would suggest that you watch the PrAna sizing guides and read the reviews. I sized down and they fit wonderfully. They look like a very stylish pair of dark denim jeans that you would generally find to be made from thick and heavy denim, but they are almost weightless.
The outfit meets those unique Saturday needs where I can wear it for dinner out dressed up with boots after hiking with the dog. PrAna has some amazing styles that offer both comfort and ease in movement as well as visual appeal. You don’t have to dress in stretch pants to be comfortable and to exercise.
