When Moms Meet reached out to me to try out the new line of Agua Fresca products by Santa Cruz Organics, I was very eager to join.  I have been enjoying Santa Cruz Organic juices with my family for over 7 years.  We are huge fans of their lemonades and I have been know to tuck those deep in the refrigerator so that they won’t disappear too quickly!

This new line out is a variety of Agua Fresca drinks.  The orgins of agua fresca is linked to the Caribbean and Central America and translated means fresh waters.  Santa Cruz has created a line which uses water, organic fruit purees, organic sugars and a hint of lemon juice.  There are three flavors to choose from Mango Passionfruit, Pomegranate, and Grapefruit.  These lightly sweetened drinks are GMO and gluten free and cost just under $3.50.I love that they come in a glass bottle which seems to make them extra cold out of the refrigerator.

We were eager to sample Santa Cruz Agua Frescas as a family and loved the bonus applesauce packets.  First we tried the Pomegranate.  The flavor was light and refreshing.  For my children who were ready for a thick juice, they were surprised by the light flavor.  Personally, I loved the crisp sweetness of the beverage .  I found it a wonderful alternative to when I need a little flavor with my water. I ended up consuming the rest of the bottle myself in one day, perhaps I needed to exercise a bit of self control.

The Mango Passionfruit had a richer flavor and was the family favorite.  With only 60 calories per 8 ounce serving, compared to 120 calories for their usual juice drink and with half the sugar it was a huge win for me.  Though we often serve water, the kids tire of that as a choice and often want a juice.  Santa Cruz Aqua Fresca delivers that for both the adults and children in my house.  I love that it is organic, has less calories and sugar than the juice boxes we occasionally serve, plus it tastes great.
