Five Things Worth Buying at Aldi’s
There are many treasures that we have discovered since shopping at Aldi. You can read more about my initial thoughts here.
Trail Mix and Nuts–
They have a great variety including mixes with dark chocolate, ones with only dried fruits, as well as an extensive nut selection(we love the salted cashews). Most large bags run around $5. Here is my favorite!
While the breads have been hit or miss for some time, they have expanded their selection. We like the shelf stable garlic bread for $1.99, sandwich thins for under $1.50, and buying buns for cookouts since packs of 8 are under $1.00!
Snack Food
They have a huge variety including knock off Girl Scout cookies. When you have ten kids at your house swimming and are looking for an easy snack, a giant bag of tortilla chips and salsa work great. Also their granola bars, pita chips, apple sauce squeezes, and oatmeal cream pies are regulars here!
We love their variety of cheeses and have tried some really great imported cheese. They carry Babybels regularly, their cheese sticks are great for lunch boxes, and you can’t beat the shredded line. Our favorites are the Honey Goat cheese, the freshly shredded Parmesan, and mozzarella ball.
Lots of chocolate, but our favorite indulgence is the sea salt caramel!
We buy bread, milk, and eggs almost exclusively at Aldi. Ninety percent of the time their regular price is cheaper than the sale price of other stores. I have never bought any fresh meat from Aldi, but I would like to at some point.
We had NY Strip from there tonight!
I’m amazed at the price of Parmesan cheese. Definitely would buy cheese.
I actually buy from all categories except the chocolate so I’d love to try that out. I love the cereal at Aldi since it is so cheap.
I’d love to try some of the cheeses.
I would totally try out the snack foods. I have a house of hungry boys to feed.
Mmmm … I’d have to go with the chocolate or cheese. Ha
The Sandwich Skinnys look like an awesome way to cut calories.
I’d like to try their nuts and dried fruits. I like using those for snacking themselves or for adding to recipes such as granola bars. However, they can be expensive so I usually do without and then forget about them completely.
The number one thing I buy at Aldi is their rolled oats. I cook with oats a lot in addition to serving oatmeal for breakfast. Their price is the best I have seen in a long time plus I don’t need to worry about having a coupon or waiting on a sale.
I would definitely be buying snacks. These kiddos eat so many snacks its crazy!!!
I like to buy my snacks at Aldis!
I would totally try the Specially Selected Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels. YUM!!!!
I would love to try the cheeses, I love cheese!
I usually run in for produce and chips and salsa but with school starting soon will be looking for other snacks
I haven’t tried the chocolates, but now I may! I do most of my grocery shopping at Aldi, however there is a Lidl opening soon and can’t wait to try it out!

I usually buy protein bars, chips, yogurt, hummus, fruits and
Veggies (if not in season) and bread there.
I would definitely try the cheese but I’ve heard so many great reviews about Aldi, I’d prob try everything you recommended.
