We shop both local (Top of the Slope) and online for great winter gear. If there is one thing we have learned since moving back to Northeastern Pennsylvania, it’s that good gear can make your winter more enjoyable. No need to hibernate inside every day watching Netflix, though I still recommend this a few times every winter. If you are looking for some great suggestions, I recommend that you chat with the “gearheads” over at Backcountry. You tell them exactly what you want and your price range. For instance after spending two Saturdays and a tank of gas searching for the perfect ski pants for my particular husband, I turned to the gearheads for assistance. I simply specified that we wanted to spend less than $200 for a good waterproof resistant pant with deep pockets and a color other than black. Two days later, the perfect pair arrived and three years later he still loves them!
Lately, we have been scoring amazing deals at TheHouse.com. For this site, we start at Rakuten (I know that new name is not my favorite either). They are offering 10% back and you get an extra 10% off with code Take10 or try the code extra20 (didn’t work for me, but I may have used it already!).
Here is a great deal:
