As I headed back to our camp site with my newly eight year old daughter walking by my side carrying her triple sprinkle hot fudge sundae in her small hands, she shared some valuable perspective.
“Mom it’s really great to be young because people still think you are cute and do special things for you. Like that lady with the ice cream who gave me three types of sprinkles, simply because I am a child. It’s just easier to be younger than old, people want to help you and talk to you.”
I’d say she is wise beyond her years in this area. Let’s all try to treat each other as we would an eight year old. With patience, kindness, and generosity. It’s likely what our world needs.
